Bontaz has published its 2023 Professional Equality Index. This year, the overall index stands at 75 points, remaining stable compared to 2022. Notably, there is a trend toward reducing pay gaps, as evidenced by two indicators: individual salary increases and promotions.

The stability of this index reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion. Bontaz aims to develop an HR policy that addresses current societal challenges and translates its core values—Humanity, Proximity, Boldness, and Excellence into concrete actions. Furthermore, these efforts align with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #5 (Gender Equality) and the Global Compact, of which Bontaz is a member .

WHAT IS THE PROFESSIONAL EQUALITY INDEX?

The Index of Professional Equality was designed to promote wage equality between women and men within companies. It allows companies to transparently measure pay gaps between genders and identify areas for improvement. All companies employing at least 50 employees are required to calculate and publish this index.

BONTAZ REMAINS GENERALLY STABLE, WITH A TREND TOWARDS REDUCING GAPS

For the year 2023, the cumulative results obtained on the 5 monitoring indicators enable us to achieve a score of 75 points out of a total of 100. This score is stable compared to 2022. A favorable trend is nevertheless shown by the evolution of two indicators. The individual increase gap is 0% in 2023, compared with 2.4% in 2022.

The gap in promotions is 8.4% in 2023 in favor of women, compared with 3.6% in 2022, which shows that readjustment actions have been taken. The decrease in the former and the increase in the latter show a shift in favor of fewer women.

A summary of the scores obtained for each indicator is presented below:

A STRONG COMMITMENT TO PROFESSIONAL EQUALITY

Gender equality is an important issue for the Bontaz Group, and one that is part and parcel of its HR and CSR policies.

With this in mind, Bontaz has implemented an ambitious action plan to improve its index results over the coming years, and thus reduce the inequalities observed as far as possible.

These efforts must continue, and the Bontaz Group renews its commitment. Everyone must have the same opportunities for advancement and career development, without distinction on the basis of gender.
