En glisse vers Pékin with Bontaz and the French Bobsleigh Teams
With less than 6 months to go before the deadline, the French bobsleigh teams met up with the Bontaz Group’s R&D teams in the presence of the French Ice Sports Federation (FFSG) just before the opening of this very promising new season. This event was an opportunity to make a first assessment of this large-scale technical partnership in which the teams have been involved for nearly 8 years now.
THE FRENCH BOBSLEIGH TEAMS IN THE STARTING BLOCKS
The meeting between athletes from the French Ice Sports Federation (FFSG) and engineers from the Bontaz R&D department took place on the premises of the Mont-Blanc Medias Group, in the presence of Daniel Anghelone, CEO of the Bontaz Group, Gérard Balthazard, representative of the French Ice Sports Federation, and Alexandre Vanhoutte, manager of the women’s and men’s bobsleigh French teams.
As the new season begins, the French bobsleigh teams are more motivated than ever to win a medal at the upcoming Beijing Games.
THE MEN'S TEAM
The team of 10 people is united and ready to take up all the challenges of this season. With Romain Heinrich at the helm (2nd from the left) and accompanied here by Dorian Hauterville, Sébastien Jeanroy and Jérôme Laporal, the French team hopes to win next year.
THE WOMEN'S TEAM
On the women’s side, the very first women’s bobsleigh team was formed in 2020. They will also carry the French colours high. With Margot Boch, pilot at the head of the team, the group includes six girls on the push side. Present, from left to right, were Carla Sénéchal, Margot Boch, Talia Solitude and Madison Stringer.
THE OUTCOME OF A TECHNICAL AND HUMAN ADVENTURE
T
he Bontaz Group, which has been involved with the French Ice Sports Federation (FFSG) for many years, puts its technical strength at the service of French bobsleigh to constantly offer new improvements, which are invaluable for optimising the performance of athletes.
If the physical preparation of the athletes is important, the technical side has a crucial role in the preparation. Whether it is the equipment, the thrust or the piloting, no detail has been left to chance by the Bontaz R&D teams. This close collaboration between the athletes and the engineers in charge of the project will contribute (we hope!) to leading the French teams to victory. With only a few months to go, the French bobsleigh teams look forward to seeing you in Beijing, from 4 to 20 February 2022, to experience the outcome of this partnership live.
